Frederick William Frohawk
1861-1946
Frohawk began his lengthy and successful career as a zoological artist at the age of 20, when he was hired by The Field, a leading UK country magazine. He was also an artist to the London Zoological Society and painted over 1000 animals, fish, insects and birds. In 1895 he was elected as a member of the British Ornithologists Union. His knowledge of bird biology is reflected in his lifelike paintings and illustrations which are published in a number of books and journals. |
