Francesco Botticini
1446-1497
After a brief period as Neri di Bicci's assistant, Botticini soon established his own workshop. It was highly regarded for the decorative works it produced, some of which can be seen in the collegiate church of Empoli. Some of Botticini's work is overshadowed by that of his Florentine contemporaries such as Filippino Lippi and Botticelli, whose style he often mirrored. |
