Family

  • Diane Parsons is Gram's half-sister.
  • Gretchen Parsons Carpenter was Gram's wife.
  • Polly Parsons is Gram Parsons' daughter.

Musicians

  • Peter Buck is the guitarist in REM.
  • Jon Corneal was the drummer with The International Submarine Band and Flying Burrito Brothers.
  • Steve Earle is an acclaimed singer-songwriter. His albums include Guitar Town and El Corazon.
  • Emmylou Harris first came to prominence on Gram Parsons' two solo albums GP and Grievous Angel.
  • Chris Hillman was a founding member of the Byrds and co-founded The Flying Burrito Brothers with Gram Parsons.
  • Sneaky Pete Kleinow played pedal steel in The Flying Burrito Brothers. He later recorded with Frank Zappa, Stevie Wonder and John Lennon.
  • Bernie Leadon was in The Flying Burrito Brothers before becoming one of the founding members of The Eagles.
  • John Nuese was the guitarist in the International Submarine Band with Gram Parsons.
  • Keith Richards and Gram Parsons were close friends. Parsons stayed with Richards during the recording of the Rolling Stones' Exile on Main Street.
  • Dwight Yoakam is a singer-songwriter credited with returning country music to its traditional roots.

Friends and associates

  • Pamela des Barres is the author of the classic groupie memoir, I'm With the Band, and describes herself as the Burritos' "biggest fan".
  • Jim Carlton was a teenage friend of Gram and performed with him in their teenage band The Legends.
  • Barry Feinstein is a photographer and shot the covers for Gilded Palace of Sin by The Flying Burrito Brothers and Gram Parsons' two solo albums.
  • Margaret Fisher was a childhood friend of Gram and was with him when he died.
  • Phil Kaufman was Gram Parsons' road manager. To fulfill a pact with Gram, Kaufman stole Parsons' body after his death and burnt it in the California desert.
  • Dominique Tarlé photographed the Rolling Stones making Exile at Main Street at Keith Richards' French mansion Villa Nellcôte.
  • James E Thomas was Gram's teacher at Harvard University.
