It had to happen - reality TV finally meets the world of dance. Five teams compete for the chance to create a 30 minute dance film. Battling against each other as well as the clock, the teams have to shoot and edit a taster tape of the film they want to make. After an exhausting fortnight, living together in a Welsh mansion, the final hurdle is The Pitch. Each team presents their efforts to a panel of expert judges, including two members of the TV audience, who decide which team will see their idea turned into reality.

The winning film is broadcast after the documentary

Dance Film Academy is an initiative co-funded by BBC Four, BBC Wales and the Arts Councils of England and Scotland. DFA is a development of the BBC and ACE's long standing commitment to developing new talent in the field of dance for the camera.
