Ale Möller
ALE MÖLLER'S WORLD HERITAGE ORCHESTRA

A leading figure in the Swedish folk revival, Ale Möller began his career as a trumpeter and guitarist primarily interested in jazz. But when he heard Greek musician Christos Mitrencis at a gig in Sweden he became fascinated by the bouzouki. He later adapted the instrument to play Swedish fiddle music, and it's this hybridising approach to different cultures and styles that Möller has made his own.

The Orchestra features a fluid roster of musicians who mix musical influences as diverse as Greek, Cuban, African, jazz and Indian.

This gig was recorded in the spectacular setting of the newly refurbished Old Fruitmarket, and features a guest appearance from legendary Shetland fiddler, Aly Bain.
