In PicturesComics Britannia: Dennis the Menace, David Law
Dennis the Menace, from The Beano, 11 April 1953David Law (1908- 1971)David Law, also known as Davey Law, was the artist behind Dennis the Menace. With a spontaneous and urgent style Law introduced 'misbehaviour' into children's comics where there had previously been a more innocent paternalism. Dennis deliberately went out to find trouble and even though he may have got his just desserts in the end, this was a break from tradition. A renowned perfectionist, Law worked across several DC Thomson comics such as The Beano and Topper with his Beryl the Peril strip. The sense of movement he created was present in all his work.
