fans thought the end of Ziggy meant Bowie was retiring for
good
David Bowie seemed destined to end up on the big screen. Pennebaker
recalls, "I have never seen anyone turn on an audience, men
as well as women, the way he did that night. The minute he strode
on stage I could see that he was a character looking for a film."
The film includes many of Bowie's greatest hits, including Changes,
Suffragette City and All the Young Dudes as well as backstage footage.
