Perrier Award-winning comedian and amateur fisherman Rich Hall returns to BBC Four with Rich Hall's Election Special. As ever, the irreverent American comic is accompanied by his Canadian pal Mike Wilmot.
With the American elections on the horizon, Rich gives his views on the whole event. Rich asks Mike to join him at his log cabin in Montana to bitch, moan, philosophise, trade in ideas and drink a lot of bourbon. Being from Canada, Mike knows nothing about American politics; so Rich attempts to explain the hows and dos of the US electoral system.
The pair seek out characters involved in local elections and invite a host of unlikely candidates to join them on the porch. They attend local debates and discuss some of the biggest political issues facing the voters. For instance, can you really buy a gun faster than you can get served beer in Montana? And in the name of education, they will be reconstructing some major American political events.
