Jorgen Leth's film was acclaimed when it was first shown in the 1970s. Probably no better will ever be made about the rigours of bicycling over cobbles in Belgium.

Shot with 20 cameras and a helicopter, you can see every bead of sweat on the cyclists and every smashed-up ankle. It really makes you never want to get on a bike again. But it is an amazing film.
