Robert Capa was the great war photographer and he was also a remarkable man. Born in Hungary, his real name was Andrei Friedmann, but he reinvented himself, giving himself what he thought to be a more American name.
Between his first photos taken in 1930s Europe and his death at the age of 41 when he stepped on a landmine in Vietnam, Capa managed to live an extraordinarily vivid life. If you consider that Ingrid Berman heads the list of his girlfriends, and that his favourite drink was Bollinger, you begin to get the picture.
Anne Makepeace's winning documentary recreates the man in all his sexy glory.
