NATIONAL TRUST: LENNON
Sunday 1 May 2005 8pm-9pm; 1.45am-2.45am
Some think John Lennon's boyhood home is comparable to the Tower of London and Warwick Castle. But does this pebble-dash semi belong alongside the other architectural wonders that the Trust protects?
After acquiring the empty house that Lennon lived in for 16 years and donating it to the Trust, Yoko Ono and her army of advisors follow every move to renovate it to its 1950s glory.
As the clock ticks rapidly away at the Trust's hippest visitor attraction, will the pink bed-spread for John's room be deemed suitably rock and roll? And will Yoko ever give the Trust the final seal of approval?
