The documentary reveals the results of an astonishing new scientific study that suggests the dog could be better at diagnosing cancer than current technology. It also includes footage of a pet dog spontaneously alerting its owner to a potential cancer.

Also featured in the film is a new study which shows how dogs are able to detect chemicals diluted to one part per trillion, the equivalent of one pinch of salt on 10,000 tons of potato chips. That's between 10,000 and 100,000 times better than humans.

What if my dog shows an interest in one of my moles?
It is quite normal for a dog to show interest in smelling its owner's skin. If you are convinced that your dog is picking out one mole in particular, and that your dog is returning to that same mole on repeated occasions, then look at it more closely. Has the mole changed recently? By change, we mean increased in size, changed shape, become darker, or perhaps it has itched or bled? Or perhaps it looks very different from your other moles. If so, then do get your mole checked out by your family doctor. Chances are that it will be perfectly harmless, but if not, the key message with melanoma skin cancer is that it can be completely cured if diagnosed early.
