BBC FOUR WORLD CINEMA AWARD 2008

Saturday 2 February 2008 9.10pm-10.10pm; rpt Tuesday 19 February midnight - 1am

The winner of this year's award is Pan's Labyrinth (El Laberinto del Fauno), see the press release for more details.

The BBC FOUR World Cinema Award, hosted by Jonathan Ross, was held at the BFI Southbank, London on Wednesday 30 January before an invited audience. The event was broadcast on BBC Four on Saturday 2 February at 9.10pm.

BBC Four celebrates the best in foreign language filmmaking with this annual prize. A panel of judges, chaired by Jonathan Ross, chose the winner from a shortlist of five films nominated by the UK's leading critics, film-school heads and festival directors.

To celebrate the award's fifth birthday, we screened a season of films that have previously been shortlisted for the prize.
