BBC FOUR WORLD CINEMA AWARD 2006 The winner
of this year's Award was announced in a special live programme on 26 January
2006 - the winner was Downfall.
The Award, now in its third year, rewards the best
in foreign language filmmaking. The judges, actress Amanda Donohoe, critic Jonathan Romney and producer and director Stephen Woolley, chose the winner from a shortlist of six films nominated by the UK's leading critics, film-school heads and festival directors.
