  BBC FOUR WORLD CINEMA AWARD

BBC Four celebrates the best in foreign language filmmaking with this annual prize. A panel of judges chose the winner from a shortlist of films nominated by the UK's leading critics, film-school heads and festival directors.

Sylvan Chomet, France/Belgium/Canada, 2003
Madame Souza raises her grandson Champion and tries to make him happier with a baby dog, Bruno and a tricycle. When Champion is kidnapped, Madame Souza and Bruno travel to Belleville to rescue him.
