Werner Karl Heisenberg
German physicist

Awarded the 1932 Nobel Prize for his work on Quantum Mechanics, Heisenberg is best known for his discovery of the uncertainty principle: that it's impossible to precisely measure both the velocity and position of a particle at the same time.
