The Odyssey Synopsis

THE ODYSSEY directed by BAFTA award-winner Asif Kapadia, follows the story of London and Londoners, tracing the emotional journey since the city won the right to stage the 2012 Olympic Games. Using the voices of Londoners, archive and stunning aerial footage the film shows why sport is so essential, how it inspires and provides unforgettable moments of beauty, purity and the sublime, all of which help us forget the difficulties of everyday life.

THE ODYSSEY is one of four unique shorts that BBC Films and Film4 have come together for the first time to co-commission for the London 2012 Festival that showcase great UK filmmaking talent.
