A mini season showcasing the work of comic fantasy novelist Terry Pratchett, who celebrates his 60th birthday on Monday the 28th of April.

Brutha is the chosen one, and we discover the origin of the god Om in Robin Brooks' dramatisation of Terry Pratchet's thirteenth Discworld novel.

The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents

Maurice the cat and his gang of talking rats make a lucrative arrangement with a young boy piper, but the scam falls apart as they confront something truly evil in the town of Bad Blintz.  Peter Kerry's dramatisation stars Harry Myers, Tom George, David Tennant and Annie Rowe.

Hear David Tennant in The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents. Sunday 27th April at 10am and 8pm.

Mort is hired as an apprentice by Death in the fourth Discworld novel, published in 1987. 

Dramatised by Robin Brooks, with narration by Anton Lesser and also starring Geoffrey Whitehead as Death and Carl Prekopp as Mort.

Terry Pratchett joins Book Club to talk to James Naughtie about Mort. He explains how Discworld started as a parody of all fantasy, then it turned into a satire on just about everything.  

He's no longer sure what it is.
