Biography:

Over the last seven years, Sonny Ji has taken himself from his debut club gig with the world renowned Shaanti club night to festivals in Poland, on stage at Glastonbury and Godskitchen Openair event as a winner of a national Galaxy 105 competition.

Sonny Ji’s now trademark sound is creatively looped, mixed and EQ’ed giving a breath of fresh air within the Asian music scene. His initial exposure via the legendary Shaanti club night gave Sonny the platform to experiment as a master decknician where he introduced his own brand of Bhangra House.

Over the years his influences have been varied, from the likes of The Safri Boys, Malkit Singh, Tigerstyle, Panjabi MC and DCS to artists from the electronic scene such as Sasha, Daft Punk, The Chemical Brothers, Derek Carter and Frankie Knuckles.

Sonny’s main aim in his musical life is to bridge the best music from around the world, with where his roots lie in Bhangra, creating a unique musical soundscape.
