    Northants spinner Monty Panesar joined up with the BBC Asian Network to give us his audio diaries of England's tour of India. listen again.

    Monty was part of the England squad that faced India in the series between the two sides. Monty became the first Sikh to play for the England team. These audio diaries captured Monty's personal experience of being on tour with the England team to the country of his ancestral heritage.

    Monty started his county career in 2001 with match figures of 8-131 against Leicestershire and went on to represent England Under 19s for two seasons. National selectors were impressed with the talented left-hand spinner and it earned him a place in the National Academy squad in 2002, giving him the opportunity to tour Sri Lanka. He has recently signed a deal with Northants which will keep him tied up until 2007.

      Monday, 6th March

      Monty reflects on his Test debut and relives that magical moment when he took his first wicket in Test cricket of Sachin Tendulkar.

      Wednesday, 8th March

      Today Monty begins by talking about his journey to Punjab, which he feels is a journey back to his roots.

      Thursday, 17th March

      Day before the match, Monty looks ahead and tells us what we can expect to see in Mumbai as India take on England in the final Test of the series.

      Thursday 23rd March

      Monty Panesar is on his way back home after England's tour of India. Throughout the series the Northants spinner has been keeping a diary for the BBC Asian Network. Today on his final reflections, he begins by looking back on what's been a successful first tour.
