The ResidentsBack to the Chart
Simran KaurSimran Kaur
Played by Balvinder Sopal

DOB: 31st March 1979
FAMILY : Husband Jaggy Singh, son Kesar, Mother - Surinder, Father - Pritam
LIVES: In Heatherton Wood
WORK: Simran runs Beauty Magic, the salon and has a wedding planning business
CHARACTER: Extremely well-groomed and up-to-date with all the latest beauty treatments, Simran is very good at her job. She split up with Jaggy after discovering his affair but later found she was pregnant with his baby.

"I always like keep myself well-groomed. - I have to look the part in my line of work after all. I enjoy the work, and it gives me something to do. - I don't want to be sat at home with Kesar all the time twiddling my thumbs - I want to be a person in my own right too . It was a great move buying the salon so I could really make it my own - there was certainly a lot of scope for improvement. After the fire I though my heart wasn't in it any more. I'll keep it ticking over but I'm much more passionate about the wedding business. I love organising everything, it's so much fun shopping with other people's money although both businesses are very quiet at the moment because of the current economic climate."

"I thought me and Jaggy were over for good when I found out about him and Tina. I must admit I totally lost it and I really didn't know what I was doing when I stabbed him in the leg. I never meant to hurt him like that, or end his career, but you've got to admit, he did kind of deserve everything he got! And then it was just me and little Kesar, and that was ok. I must admit I got pretty lonely sometimes. I know there was Pete for a while but I never really saw that as a pemanent thing. I never dreamed I'd go back with Jaggy. But he's changed so much. He's great with Kesar and he was so good to us letting us stay with him until my flat was habitable again. I don't know what happened but he just kind of grew on me again I suppose. When he told me he still loved me I nearly fell off my chair. Mind you, it took me to propose to him on Leap Year. I don't think he'd ever have got round to it. Mum and Dad were thrilled we were finally getting married. I'm sure I can really trust Jaggy now....."
