"Me and the lads could do with a car really, just to get out of this place. No, nothing ever happens round here man - all there is to do is play footy or pool, or hang around on Silver Street and eye up the talent. Not that there's much of that round here either! I'm definitely the best looking guy in the gang though - girls are always eyeing me up. Arun's my best mate around here, when he's not being an idiot! I wasn't too sure about Arun at first - he was too desperate - but I reckon he's ok now. Actually he's pretty cool."
"Growing up with Gran hasn't been that bad. Some people might think it's weird, but it's all I've ever known. Gran's pretty cool anyway - the rest of my mates respect her. She says she's seen it all before - Mods, Rockers, Punks, the lot - so she's not worried about me hanging out with the lads. That was one one of the worst things about being sent to the Young Offenders Unit, knowing that I'd let Gran down. I learnt a few good lessons in there though, like never getting involved in anything that might end up with me getting sent back there again!"
It's strange having my mum in my life at last, in fact I can't even call her mum. Siobhan's cool though and now I've got a sister as well. It's good that Gran and Siobhan are kind of getting on now. I thought that knowing who my dad was would complete the jigsaw but finding out that Jai's my dad just left me cold. I couldn't care less if he never came back. I've realised that I've already got all the family I need."
