Nihal's Biography

Nihal went to the same school as the great Glenn Hoddle so there was never any doubt that he was going to be a die-hard Spurs fan. Football and music are his two great loves. Nihal was taken to his first game at White Hart Lane by his father and it ignited a passion in Nihal that still burns fiercely today.

Nihal is one half of the Radio 1 Show, Bobby and Nihal, launched as a late night urban music show in October 2003 which won gold at the Sony Music Awards. He also presented on the arts and entertainment show Desi DNA on BBC2 and is now presenting for the Culture Show on BBC2. In the past he has hosted documentaries for Channel 4 such as Whitey Blighty, and Mind your F**ing manners which looked at etiquette across cultures. He has also been a regular contributor to UKTV’s The Clothes Show and most recently he was a mentor for Channel 4’s Debutantes which was a series of educational documentaries with the sole aim of inspiring young people to pursue careers in the creative industries.

From May 2007 Nihal has been presenting the mid morning phone-in show on BBC Asian Network and in October 2007 he begun presenting the weekend breakfast show on Radio 1.
