    Amir Raza Abbasi-Islamabad
Nobody have the power to stop such natural disasters. But we must have separate department in every province to deals in such situations.Sufferings and miseries are endless in earthquake areas,We must pray to God to save us from such disasters...and forgive our sins....

Omer Ahmed Bangash, Balakot, District Mansehra (PA
It's really hard time for my villagers and for us, Now Situation is going onward as recovery, Balkot is totally destroyed, aftershocks jolts area harshly, and the most people migrated to Mansehra and Abbottabad, Remaining in tents out there, set up by different NGO's and Government, It's really an hard time, People still weeping for their loved ones, Least of them still under rebels, and the "WAR" for releif goods is on way there, Officials involved in corruption, They demand for the NIC's and documents, which people lost under rebels of the buildings, People repairing their loved ones graves, which they arranged in hurry, and teams busy in releif, Wall chalking on way, where at earlier were sign boards of HOTELS and WELCOME in Valley, but Now there they write, as " LIFE WILL SMILE AGAIN", "Keep Water AND AREAS AROUND UR TENTS CLEAN" and like that, High School for boys has been repaired and For girls is on the way, Beside the Girls High School is my Native Grave Yard, where number of School Girls are burried, With Their Shoes and School Bags at their graves but most of them also lost their parents so no one still has came to their graves for blessings.

    Maqsood A. Bangash
Me in Mansehra suffered alot 4 casualities in our home in Balakot and more than 60 in our family.Everything destroyed in Balakot.

    Natasha Syed, Peshawar, Pakistan
what a tragedy has visited us!the scale is staggering;the pictures on the too-many satellite channels heart-rending;first hand news from family and friends staggering in its frighfull dreadfulness.Oct-8-2005 is a poignant day for all pakistanis.in the 58 years of our country's existance, it is no doubt a stunning disaster.my hands are always stretch to welcome all those needy and affected people who are calling for help!i will be glad to help them.. let us all pray for the shaheeds of the killer earth quake.. regardz, Natasha Syed

    Farah,U.K
I was in Rawalpindi on the day of the quake, it was a terrifying experience.the house was swinging.i went to Rawalkot in Kashmir on the following tuesday and the 80% of the village had been damaged and people's house on the ground.I went to visit the Civil military hospital for locals and the army that looked like it had been bombed down and bodies were still underneath it looked like a mini ghost town.

    Abid Hussain , Sargodha Pakistan
This earthquake i ever seen in my life. Its very terrible and 86,000 thousands people are died .In this time of sorrow and grave we people do something for needy people of earthquake diasester .

Muhammad Umer Quddafi Kharian Gujrat Pakistan
We never forget such a big human disaster that happened in pakistan. Our brothers need internetional help.Pakistani being frontline state looking for response as given in Tsunami.

    Zaid Baghpati, Pakistan
this is one of the most teriblle earthquake i hav ever witnessed. many people are left homeless and generations and generations are completely finished. i think all of us should wonder and take part in the relief works

    Andrew McGregor, Scotland
I think that this earthquake is terrible. I can't imagine the devastation of the homes and the deaths of all the families. I have sent a few of my things to try and help all the people in need.

    M.Danyal Riaz-Islamabad
We must all come together as one, strong nation at this time and we must help our fellow brothers and sisters who survived the horrible, devastating earthquake. Pakistan is a strong and prosperous nation and this is the start of a new generation in our country which can be restored if we work together as one.

    Kerri Ann, Sheffield
I think this is awful it is terrible I can't believe it. All the people will be homeless.

    Pippa Jones - Norwich
I think it is really sad that people are losing interest in the earthquake even though there are so many victims in need.

    Zeshan Multan
This earthquake has swallowed lives like never before. Thousands are injured. Hearts are broken. This is the time to gather courage and fight with the monster of death. This is the time to show the world that Pakistan is a "Strong Nation".

    Kiren Hussain, Republic of Ireland
This earthquake has shocked many people. It really makes you think about life and the future. It makes you want to get up and do something about it. For example, my fellow classmates and I decided we would raise money for the earthquake. You really don't know what’s around the corner in life.

    Waqas Ovais Qureshi, Rawalpindi, Pakistan
I have heard people blaming the country's army for a very slow relief operation but I would like to congratulate the army for doing a really great job. There are places in the affected territory where the Government has not been able to reach due to understandable reasons but now things are improving. This is just the beginning. Keep up the good work.

    Attif
Some people are saying scientists are failing to find out about earthquakes. Is this true?

    Mina, Sheffield
My prayers go out to the people of Pakistan and other countries affected. I feel that not enough has been done by the Pakistani government to get aid and help out there. The winter will take more lives if they don't get this help. The frequent disasters around the world makes me think that these are the major signs for the world to end.

    Komal Shafa'at , Islamabad, Pakistan
The huge participation of the general public in relief activities demonstrates that they are working as "one nation". People might be receiving delayed aid but the spirits are high. Also the Pakistani Army is dealing with the situation in a very organized manner. Many thanks to the whole world.

    Falahat Sheikh
This is in response to John comments. If India wanted to help Pakistan, and pakistan refused. Silly person give reason also so people who are reading your comments have the full story. It was because India insisted to send their army with it. Pakistan has shortage of helicopter, not the army. Remembering the history between Pakistan and India, I do not blame Pakistani leaders for feeling this way. So coming back to the point If India reallly wanted to help , they would have given the helicopters. And coming back to you. What kind of a person are you making comments like this, This is a time to help, be afraid of God. this kind of disaster can and will happend anywhere. Help by giving what you love the most. Money and Prayers for needy and stop making people feel bad at this tragic time. May God Help Azad Kashmir in this unbelievable times, Kashmeiri

    Rahat , Dhaka , Bangladesh
My sympathy goes to all the affected peoples and may god has mercy on them. But one thing came to mind is ....when pakistan can't survive in such a natural disaster situation then why their government goes for neuclear tests?? If they haven't wasted that amount of money now atleast they could provide some emergence reliefs to their inhabitants. I pray all the pakistanis will be fine soon . May god bless them.

    Yasmeen, Peterborough
WIth reference to Han Douglas's comment. I would like to point out that if this is a sign from god that people (Pakistani Govt) have spent money in the wrong areas. Well I would like to ask what your views are on Turkey then? As there a have been a number of earthquakes. I think this is a time to reflect upon and come together, not point the finger.

    David Bloor,Beverley
i Feel extremeley sad and worried for the people in pakistan, i just hope they pull through

    Yasmin Staffordshire
It is the time that our nation should be united and they should help their brothers who are the victims of this tragedy. I pray to Allah, to protect and help the people who have been affected by this disaster.

    Shabana Khan Staffordshire
I'm deeply sorry for the loss and pray for all the victims of the South Asia Quake. My prayers are with all muslims in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir. May Allah give you a "rainbow" 4 everystorm, a "smile" 4 every tear, a "promise" 4 every care, a "blessing" in each trial- an answer to every prayer Ameen.

    osman ahmad, london
peace be upon the victims and blessings on the survivors. The winter is coming and the people of northern pakistan have no food or shelter. The government is doing all it can but the public people should not be selfish and they should try to make sure that all the supplies reach every single person who needs it, afterall, we are all brothers and sisters and every grain can save someones life. Please don't give up.

    Sabah London Walthamstow
none of my family have been affected but still its so hard to watch the news and everything happeneing in my own country and to my people.respect to my mates uncles who went out there to help. please all you out there could you just pray for the best. thanxx xXx

    UnKnown, Pakistan
Well is it the natural disaster or a human created disaster. like the Tsunami Conspiracy Theories. what else like army coming to margalla towers after 3 to 4 hours late there are many others points.

    Naheed Ahmed. Tucson,AZ
There are diffrent ways to look at this matter. Some are saying it's wrath from God,and others are saying some thing else. I personaly think we should not worry about what happend, but we should think what is going to happend. How are we going to handle this? Instead of dwelling the past we need to move on and do things practicaly!!! However I'm not saying I don't feel any thing for victims, but digging past won't give us any thing,so please donate as much as you can and be part of rebuilding!!! Remember that.Blocks are essential to a building!!!

    Juanito Jones-Tokyo, Japan
i am very sad for all of this stuff. i thank the gods thet we have the money to buy food, supplies and our house. At any time i would like to volunteer in a helping event and help the people of our world.

    hans douglas - turkey
The Lord of the world knocked the door of Pak/India and give a message to keep a right for civilian & social development in the area. They have spent million $ for weapons and they have nuclear but they did not spend enough money for education , jobs , hospitals , rescue teams etc. They should think abou it...what they can do for humanity.

    Tom Jenkins Southampton
I dont know if i really believe in all of this stuff about the hurricans and things but oh well i wish every one luck in their future of helping those who suffer!

My prayers are with you my brother and sisters in pakistan and azad kashmier.

    Yasmin, Kent
I never showed any interest in my father's background, but his entire past: his heritage, the house where he was born and brought up, everything, is all dust now. I'm so gutted that I never got to see it. It's taught me a valuable lesson. Life's too short. My thoughts are with everyone affected.

    Jaffer, Houston
I was very saddened by the tragic earth quale in Pakistan, Allah Subhana Tallah reminds us of death once again that it can come with a blink of an eye, This could have happened to any one. Allah Subhana Tallah has provided and protected us now it is time to give to our brothers and sisters who are in need, May Allah Subhana Tallah grant those who have died the highest rank in Jannah. May help us help those who are suffering this is a chance for us especially in this blessed month to help those who need help, The most important think that they need is money so please provide from what you have been provided with from the mercy of Allah. Remember death as its as near as our own to feet. May Allah bless those who have already helped and May Allah awaken those who havent. My prayers and hopes go out to all the survivors and those who have lost their beloved. Have patience my brothers and sisters.

    kiran kumar/Mangalore/India

Hope relief efforts reach to all the people who are in need there is an urgent need to get aid to these areas. Lets hope in this time of crisis both the Nations are united and ensure that they both help each other in this bad time. But first of al i would like to say something which is real as i think that is natural disaster has no bondary, nor realigion it can happen anywhere.....so stop killing p'ple in the name of religion,God is one and no name or realigion,IF there is any realigion that is a our nature so save the nature and save the lives..God bless us and all including its creature

    sara ali peshawar

Three regions of the world were/are the key source of all tension, terrorism and unrest - Afghanistan, Kashmir and Palestine/Israel. Please note that all have one thing in common -Islamic extremists. USA took care of Afghanistan after 911 and world became a safer place. Thank you America. God has given a message to India and Pakistan regarding Kashmir via this huge earthquake. I hope both counries get the message and resolve the issue ASAP. And let's hope Paletstine and Isreal resolve their issues soon, before a major calamity hits them too.

    john
What a mean stand by the earthquake hit nation--- refusing to accept 50 or so helicopters from across the border, they would have brought relief to tens of thousands suffering people of Kashmir. They would have brought much needed relief in less than 20 minutes. The leaders of that nation must have some explanation for leaving them to die without food, clothes and shelter? They would have brought much neede relief in less than 20 minutes. Are they frightened that the world will find the truth about what they did in the last 58 years in so called Azad (free) Kashmir? We now can see and know that it actualy is Gulam (slave) Kasmir.

    Wahid, Pakistan
The crisis is about to become ten times within three weeks as severe cold winters will start in the Himalayas and hundreds and hundreds of homeless will die of cold. Need is to donate and help the people rebuild. Please donate generously in President Musharaf's Relief Fund.

    Naveed Kapadia, West London
With fading hope of finding anymore survivors, full efforts should be concenterated towards reducing suffering of the people facing this plight. I urge International communities to administer the rescue efforts and Pakistani Govt should make efforts to stop peple from profiteering from this disaster. Pakistani Nation are better than that. People have to come forward and whole heartedly donate whatever they can with some degree of confidence that the money they are donating will end up for the right causes. May God Bless us all...

    Angela Ortega Trescantos/ Madrid/ spain
I think this is a terrible disaster now im doing an essay on these theme for gegrafy. I conssider the help from the countries not affected 'miserable' Terribly, Sorry Angela

    Zohreen, Paris
I think its horrible that all of these natural disasters are happening all over the world. but maybe they're not all natural. we should all try to help whoever however we can, especially in the month of Ramazan. we have this ability. Let's not be selfish and use it.

    Fawad, Toronto
Yes, please do continue praying but more importantly DONATE generously and encourage your family, friends, neighbours, and co-workers to help victims of this horrific disaster.

    Milly Edwards, Florida

    Mansoor Karachi
I want to highlight the fact that Pakistani Educational Instotutions provide no Nursing Training and seem least interested in doing so. Unfortunately even now we are not planning to prepare ourselves for future disasters which may occur any moment, NOW Tomorrow, Next Week, Next Month, no one can predict. IS THE GOVERNMENT PLANNING TO KILL MORE PEOPLE BY NOT BEING SERIOUS ABOUT THIS ISSUE.

    Saad Khan , U.A.E
I think the pakistani goverment has done a great job but they could not do it without the Britons , Germans , Turkish , Iranians , Americans , & the Chinese teams for the efforts for the earthquake i would also thank the bollywood actors & actress like Shahrukh Khan , Sanjay Dutt

    lauren hastie oldham europe

    sofia, Deby,England
my family lives in pakistan near the india ad pakistan border they said they felt the quake but they didn't get hurt.

    N Khan- UK
I think this earthquake has made some of us realise how selfish we actually are...with katrina & the tsunami I don't think any of us (hand on heart) were as touched or as pro-active about making donations. We now hear of people giving up their daily jobs to go out to the earthquake hit zones and help people. I'm not knocking all the hard work which is being done, I just thought I'd make the point that the term 'each to their own' definately rings true when it comes to unfortunate disasters such as this.

    Waqaar Gahafoor
I feel really sorry for the people of Pakistan. I have relatives there.I hope everyone who is injured is ok.I have donated some money for them poor, poor people.

    vakaas ahmed bradford
I was very depressed to hear that the trucks which were loaded with the aids for these victims of the earthquake are selling the stuff at a lower price to the people while they are on their way. These people should be ashamed of their self because those victims are fighting between life and death but these people who are transfering the stuff to those areas have started a money making businessI was very depressed to hear that the trucks which were loaded with the aids for these victims of the earthquake are selling the stuff at a lower price to the people while they are on their way. These people should be ashamed of their self because those victims are fighting between life and death but these people who are transfering the stuff to those areas have started a money making business

    Mohammad Khan - Lahore, PAkistan
Many people have not realized even so many days after the earthquake, that this was not just another earthquake. Not towns, not villages, not even small cities, but main metropolitan capital cities have been reduced to rubble. A complete wipeout. All of us need to look at this as not an event where the 'waters will recede'. We are looking at not rebuilding a city, we are looking at burying an already buried city and then building a new one on top of it. We need to have sustainable efforts for this will not be over in a matter of weeks, not even months. We have to look at it from the long haul point-of-view. We need to start thinking that even if we are donating a little, that we do is 'constantly' and ensure that important aspects such as construction, education, health etc are all taken care of. And by all means, this IS NO EASY TASK. God help us all... Mohammad M Khan http://earthquakeinpakistan.com

    Jim Tracey - London

It is the time that our nation should be united and they should help their brothers who are the victims of this tragedy. All of us should pray to ALMIGHTY ALLAH that he should forgive us and shower his blessings upon us.

    David Edwards England uk somerset

The horrific photos of desperate people in newspapers are extremely heartbreaking, I wish very much for hope in South Asia. Think of how much food people in other parts of the world waste and then think of how much that food could have meant to somebody dying of starvation in Pakistan. PLEASE DONATE even a little bit will help.

    Nadeem-leicester

ALL glory to be Allaha. On saturday suddenly the earth started moving here and there,so quickly i come out from my office but in the exit there was tripple story building, which were also moving here and there and there were also about 2000 people in that building, but it is grace of Allaha that without 6.7 scalled earthquake the building do not bow and fell. Now i think that the earthquake is the result of our deeds which are performing by us daily i.e injustice, invalid deeds, wrong decidision about others, greediness, jealous for others and especially we are not remembering to ALLAHA and we are pray from other than Allaha,so i invite to every one to go strickly on the manners of islam and according to the teaching of Probhet HAZRAT MUHAMMAD Peace be upon him. ISLAM is very easy and good religious.it teach us to do justice ,even with minority.Islam is the religious of peace, islam condemn terrarisim.islam says that if you committ to die a person it is equal that u committ the death of all the world. So now I request to all person PLEASE TO HELP THE EFFECTEE with the help of blanked, flour, oil, sugar, milk and water as well as the cash.

I pray for all the people of Indian Kashmir and Pakistani Kashmir. Maybe, this is God's way of reminding Indian and Paksitani governments that they are not above him. People living in this part of the world, are being crushed in the so-called-war over Kashmir, maybe God have given some space in heaven to all these people, who were living miserable dead lives on Earth. I am praying that some day soon the LOC between the Indian and Paskistani Kashmir becomes an International border, and all the people can live normal lives - and work towards a better future.Amen !

    melanie, austria
I have many friends with families in this area. In this time of grief I often hear the prayer that the common suffering should cease the fighting for land and control of kashmir and reunite the people in a new order of peace and love. My prayers go out to all, especially to those who have the power to provide help now and order peace in the future, may their decisions be guided by a force greater than themselves for the good of all.

I am a resident of Abbottabad, one of the badly hit areas of the N.W.F.P. I have been in contact with my family and they say that the aid work is underway and the people are in high spirits and high moral . He also mentioned that heavy Army machinary is moving to go to the villages in the northern areas. He also mentioned that people are donating and working together in the best possible manner. So hopefully we will be able to get control of everything in the short time but it will take years to rebuild, But we will rise again with the grace of God.

    Brishni , Sheffield
This is indeed one of the gravest tragedies that has befallen our people. Right now is the time for people of both India and Pakistan to unite and cooperate with each other and reach out in an ambience of goodwill and friendship. They say it takes a long time for rivals to turn to each other for help. But our time is now. Let us all seek to channel our efforts into rebuilding Kashmir - the last paradise on earth

    Ehtisham , NEW YORK
Forget everything else , Only we can do is Pray and help. So please everybody help them as much as possible, They should be the first for your ZAKAT( The paying of alms (Zakaah) - which is generally 2.5% of the total savings for a rich man working in trade or industry, and 10% or 20% of the annual produce for agriculturists. This money or produce is distributed among the poor this third pillar of islam),So please make sure this year's Zakat and Sadaqa goes to them.

It’s been such a shock that its happen in the time a Ramadan, but we all must be aware its a test from Allah. From the village, where I live a 150 foot Minor building of Mosque fell and smashed to bits on the ground, which cost the people £25,000 but thank to God no one was hurt because they where all at school or at a funeral, the main city near my village is Mirpur and I have been told buildings there have fallen and turning the city to dust, God forgive for all our sin and accept those you have token into Heaven.

I am thankful to all human kind who are with people and helping them the way they can. Relief funds are I hope would not remain in Pakistani hands. Make sure that the funds are coming to Kashmir because we are at this time helpless nation. Fight between India and Pakistan is for Kashmiri Land and not for Kashmiri people, that’s way every kind of help went too late to Kashmir. Help us please more. Thanks again to all who are helping us

    Sameeha, Blackburn
I have relatives in Islamabad and when my family and I heard the devastating news we were instantly worried about them but due to the grace of the Almighty they are fine however many other people have lost lives. My heart goes out to them. Maybe India and Pakistan will unite?

    Kavita, UK
Another massive and tragic natural disaster... what is going on in the world?? We've seen the destruction that Hurricane Katrina and the Asian Tsunami left on the victims and their families. Don't let it get to that scale again. This is the time where political differences should be put aside; and all nations should unite; offer help and aid to the thousands that are in need of medical attention, the innocent children that are left orphaned and to those families whose lives have been destroyed by the devastation of this earthquake. Let’s dig deep in our hearts and our pockets and offer whatever we can to make a difference.

    Naid - uk
I strongly believe that this is a sign from god to show that in times like this we all pull together to help one another. Even as far as India helping Pakistan so why not do it without such situations arising. We all need to pull together and pray and donate for all those unfortunate families out there that are suffering today. God bless all those that have died and all those that are left behind to live on without their loved ones..

    Saima ,Slough
I pray to Allah, to protect and help the people who have been affected by this disaster. Those of us unaffected can do our part by praying & generously making our donations to charities that are currently appeling for help.

I am very scared god, please help the people in South Asia.

    Amaany, UK
All my family members are fine, all thanks to Allah. I have been touched by the way ordinary people of Pakistan are risking their life’s to save others, students are clearing the roads to let emergency vehicle pass and giving blood, neighbours crying over their neighbours and taking food to the one needed. All the effort being put in by them, the army and other relief workers my prayers go out to them all. I would also like to say that, well I don't know what words to use for this, the British govt have totally disappointed me, infect I felt sick another reason to hate this government that the only money they can give is 100,000. Shame, we collected that much money by the Pakistani people in UK in just few hours. Surely, they could have given more......U.S govt has done the same, the So-called super power who can't even help their own people. The innocent people of America were let down when they needed help.....we have seen the recall faces of our so-called leaders. My hearts goes to all the people not just in Pakistan but every where else in the world who are in great distress at the moment because of the natural disasters. May Allah protect them all.

    tia, azad kashmir DADYAL

It is really an upsetting news for me, when this morning my best friend called me and told me that his whole village in North of Abbotabad has diminished, and he can not get in touch with any of his family member. I hope we get some news from Abbotabad and upper northern region, since those are the areas got effected the most. My prayers for all of them who's been affected. May GOD bless all of us.

    Halima
It's so sad that so many people have lost their lives during Ramadan. My heart goes out to everyone who's been affected.
