Sarkar is a very good film with great performances & excellent direction. Amitabh underlines why he is the greatest actor of all time & Abhishek comes of age. The support actors are also excellent. This is RGV's first big hit for a long time!
Arbind Ray - Seven Kings
Sarkar has an edgy feel to it yet succeeds in maintaining fluidity essential for ease of viewing. Whilst overbearing in places the soundscape does provide mood & meaning where needed. Overall the movie was very good. Had the direction taken the form of 'D' then Sarkar could have been a great film. 7/10

Sarkar is a good movie where there's a lot of importance given to the portrayal of the Godfather kind of character,Mr.Big B,rather than the good deeds that he does. I fail to see how the director tries to portray the person doing good for the community by showing just one serious incident where he helps a person in need of revenge.
The character Big B lives only because of the two huge Himalayas involved in the movie - Big B himself being one and the other is the Ram Gopal Varma....

A brilliant film, which is very well made. Its not a film that you will forget in a hurry and each character made such a lasting impression.
As always Amitabh was brilliant, however I think the real star was Abhishek! Superb work by him

Everyone hyped up movie 'Sarkar' from media to the people involved in making 'Sarkar' to the fans. And yes, the movie live ups to the hype. The movie is certainly inspired by 'The Godfather' but you cannot say 'Sarkar' is an exact copy of 'The Godfather'. 'Sarkar' and 'The Godfather' are completely different. I would not want to give you guys the story of the film cos that is the essence of the film and it will get you involved. All I am going to say is that movie is about a family and the head of the family has the power which some people hate it. And it will be wrong to compare each actors in the film and rate them cos all of them have done more than a justice to their character and after you leave the theater, each character will be in your head and heart, believe me.
Sarb - Film Cafe Producer
Sarkar has all the ingredients of a brilliant piece of cinema a flawless script, sharp editing, fantastic cinematography and excellent dialogues. The film may have been inspired by Mario Puzo´s The Godfather but I couldn’t compare the two as Sarkar is a film in its own right. Each scene in the film is crafted with passion and leaves a lasting impression. But for me the most powerful scene has to be the one when Amitabh waves his hand to quieten the crowd- ingenious use of camera angles which showed the amount of power and love people had for him. Abhiskehs performance was perfect – especially the scene at the end of the film and Kay Kay was at his usual best. In all Sarkar is one of the best films I’ve seen this year and one you must catch
