Meet Dev Pratap Singh and Tejinder Khosla, two friends who also happen to be senior police officers. Both have one common aim - to stop terrorist activities in the country. Yet both friends adopt two different ways of achieving their goal. One believes a person's religious and political status has nothing to do with terrorists. The other believes all terrorists in the country are from one particular religious group. Enter Farhaan Ali an unemployed law graduate who has been bought up believing in non violence, that is until his father is killed and he feels the only way he can seek revenge is by becoming a terrorist. What price will Dev pay to try and stop Farhaan Ali from becoming a terrorist?
Jignasha - Bham This movie was great it was not like those original bollywood boy girl love and dance story. It is a very serious down to earth movie concentrating on the law and the police and how problems are tackled. Overall its a great movie superb acting by Kareena, Fardeen and Amitabh a fantastic 8 out of 10 is what i would give and I seriously recommend this movie is one every one should watch.
Arbind Ray - Seven Kings Dev covers old ground but does so in a way which delves under the veneer of politicians' hidden agendas and looks at what motivates officials in power, be it legislative or law enforcement. Different perspective of storytelling for the intelligent viewer...and others too!
Simon - Manchester What a fantastic film with a superb cast. The story was so heartwarming and made me question myself. The acting of Amitabh, and Fardeen Khan was brilliant and Kareena for me stole the show. Well done to the director. Would give it 9/10
Hejab - Australia I think DEV was a great film with a good story. In my opinion credit goes to Kareena Kapoor who managed to perform well in a small role. Fardeen Khan managed to act his role to near perfection and what can I say about Amitabh other than simply marvellous.
J Singh - USA I really liked this movie even though it was very serious and had no light moments. The exchange of views between Amitabh and Om Puri are lengthy but, thought provoking and very well written. If you are looking for a boy and girl singing around trees this movie is not for you. This movie has way too much substance and is really for people who enjoy alternative thought provoking cinema.
Sarb - Film Cafe Producer Dev is a hard hitting of the police and political system. The way in which Dev ( Amitabh))deals with his inner demons, goes against his best friend Tej (Om) and manages to prevent Farhaan (Fardeen)from becoming a terrorist kept me on the edge of my seat.
Fardeen has managed to prove his critics wrong as his scenes opposite Amitabh and Om Puri were both powerful yet sensitive as you felt and understood the dilemma Farhaan( Fardeen) faced.
Aaliya (Kareena) may have had a small role but she certainly left her mark especially when she stood up to Amitabh's police officers.
Dev may not appeal to everyone but for anyone looking for a well directed story go and catch it.
