Sons and daughters have broken relationships off with their parents for lot less. Ever heard of parental relationships breaking off because daughter marries out of asian community or paternal religion or estate etc. Regarding sucess of Asians in porn. Get off your high horse. People do this for money. Is it less dignified than being a doctor, sure is? Porn industry exist because human beings are fascinated with sex. Before movies there were magazines with pictures, before that there were statues on 100's of yrs old temples, before that people just watched each other in caves. Of course there is a big difference between sex as art and sex as a profit oriented industry serving the carnal of all human desire: Greed, Sex and Violence. I wish that socities didn't produce any porn stars but then again if we can't stop hunger then stamping out the porn industry is a problem 1000x more complex. So lets pick and chose our priorties carefully.

The problem with pornography is that it is always perceived to be controlled by criminal elements big or small, and I feel that the industry should clean up their act and not to exploit the so call weaker member of our society, worldwide and because money is always involved, and the demand to so great that governments had given up trying to stamp it out. another problem is the infanticide of female babies in these cultures; i think it is all economics, because the less women is available in these culture the more valuable women become, and if a family happen to have a young woman she is often auctioned out to the highest bidder in form of a dowry; is it more or less the same idea behind it, although it is a taboo to say anything about it, well i am saying it anyway.

As a 13 year old girl, if think porn is disgusting. How can people practically sell themselves as they do and think it is right. It's not my job to tell them what is right or wrong but i do have the right of say. Pornography is a disgrace and if people want to watch it be my guest ....but were young girls and women made in this world/country to use their bodies and act in a manor just for money? what ever happened to those who wanted a education and something worthy in their lives? Why sex is such a taboo in the Asian community? India produced the Kama Sutra, had a history of erotic temple sculptures and pornographic materials. These statues and sculptures stand even to this day. It was with the arrival of the Mughals and then later the British that put an end to these things and made sex and sexuality such a taboo. A taboo that is still strong even with the advent of modernity. It is about time that Indians feel comfortable about sex and their sexuality and not hide from it.

PORN like other aspects in our society has become a topic which people see as wrong-cos its wrong! The majority of people won't even consider why its wrong or why somebody would chose to do it-life is not that simple as right and wrong (what mumi or daddi thinks or your friends). This includes porn, drug dealing or even tax avoiding businesses-just because you dad says it ok to avoid tax does'nt make it any better than drug dealing. Thats why we need to consider our own laws with respect to the UK laws and build our life how our great ancestors wished for us when they were struggling to have a meal a day. I think its great that the BBC asiannetwok is highlighting this issue. I think that all asian people should move on and accept this, it is 2006 and we should not be suprised to hear about asian porn stars. Personally I find pornography offensive although I would not support an absolute ban. However, I am appalled by the attitudes of some of those commenting here on this thread who feel is it far worse for an Asian woman than say a White woman to get involved in porn.
