The windmill of Windmill Hill was operated by generations of the Robinson family. It is uncertain when the windmill was built, but it was eventually demolished in 1904. As well as the windmill Enfield had a watermill at Ponders End, powered by the River Lea, though since the building of the George V Reservoir in 1913 it has been powered by electricity.
