Thomas Wortley Drury was educated at King William's College and Christ's College, Cambridge. Between 1899 to 1907 he was Principal of Ridley Hall, Cambridge and on leaving was ordained to the episcopate as the Bishop of Sodor and Man, a post he held for four years. In 1911 he was translated to become the Bishop of Ripon. He later served as Master of St Catharine's College, Cambridge.
