Francis Campbell Boileau Cadell (nicknamed Bunty) was one of a group of artists known as ‘The Scottish Colourists’ which also included J. D. Fergusson and Samuel Peploe. In their use of bright vibrant colours they were heavily influenced by the French Impressionist painters. Cadell trained in Paris but spent most of his working life in Edinburgh.
