Nicholas Holman was the Founder Holman Bros Ltd, a Cornish engineering family firm founded in 1801; it gained a worldwide reputation, and in 1968 merged with Broom Wade of High Wycombe to become CompAir (UK) Ltd. Finally the company closed in December 2003.
William Cock joined the Holman Company in 1878 and was responsible for the company publicity for over 50 years; he was the father of the artist Garstin Cox.
