Kintyre landscape, with a leafless tree in the foreground, and a receding view of trees, road and fields, setting sun and buildings in the background. Representing the main Tarbert to Campbeltown road, it is painted on a wintry day when the sun is weak and low in the sky.
Danny Ferguson studied and taught at Glasgow School of Art. He was a member of the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour and a member of the Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts. His paintings are of a very romantic nature, reflecting his own personality in a wide variety of themes – landscape, still life, interiors, self portraits, and rather gentle Chagall-like compositions.
