Fuller was at Oxford in 1644. He was on the Royalist side, retired to Paris and returned to England in 1650. After the Restoration he came back to Oxford. He painted five large history paintings, altarpieces, decorative paintings and mythological scenes for London taverns and three highly idiosyncratic self portraits. He was a notorious drunkard.
