Eliza Crawshay is pictured with one of her sons, Edwin Crawshay. It was a popular fashion among the wealthy at the time to dress their boys in dresses.
Eliza was the wife of Henry Crawshay. As she was a working class girl, Henry was disowned by his father, William Crawshay II. This cost him the chance to inherit the Cyfarthfa Ironworks, although he ended up running the Cinderford Ironworks in the Forest of Dean.
