A rocky coast near Pleinmont, Guernsey. Born in Carlisle, but based in London, Carrick was a landscapist, figure painter and illustrator who exhibited at the Royal Academy. He was a member of the Hogarth Club – which was sympathetic to the views of the Pre-Raphaelites. Most of his paintings are small and detailed, with great contrast between light and shade.
