In this large canvas Jones employs a mixture of painting methods combining hard lines with gestural brushmarks. He creates the hard edges using masking tape, a device used by painters such as Bridget Riley and Gene Davis who both have work in the University Collection. Trevor Jones was born in Stourbridge and studied art at Stourbridge and Birmingham Colleges of Art. Jones' work was included in the Arts Council Exhibition 'British Art '74' and 'British Painting 1952–1977' at the Royal Academy in 1977.
