This work in three parts (triptych) is a religious altarpiece. The left wing shows Christ on his way to Calvary (or Golgotha) the place of the Crucifixion.
The central panel of the triptych is a copy of the high altar of O. L. Vrouwe-kerk in Antwerp, painted by Quentin Metsys in 1509/1510. However, the subjects of the wings of this alterpiece differ.
