The brig 'Charles Chalmers' was built by the Walter Hood yard, Aberdeen in 1874. On 18th September 1903, en route from Aberdeen with a cargo of granite, she was run down by the armoured cruiser HMS 'Sutlej' near St. Abbs Head and sunk.
