Anthony Sayer (c.1672–1741/1742), a bookseller, was the first Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of England, one of two governing bodies of Freemasonry in England in the eighteenth and early nineteenth century. He was elected on 24th June 1717, when the Grand Lodge was founded at the 'Goose and Gridiron' tavern in St Paul’s Churchyard, London.
