This portrait is believed to be Sir Lionel Darell (1742–1803), 1st Baronet of Richmond Hill. He is wearing the Masonic collar of Royal Somerset House and Inverness Lodge No.4, of which he was Master, or Ruler, in 1795. He is also wearing a medal known as the Hall Medal, which was given to lodges and individuals who contributed to the building of the first Freemasons’ Hall in London in 1780.
