The Staffordshire Regiment Museum has occupied its present site adjacent to Whittington Barracks since 1963. It houses the collections of the former North Staffordshire, South Staffordshire and Staffordshire Regiments. It tells some amazing stories about Staffordshire soldiers who have served in all areas of the globe and does this through its rich collections of artefacts, photographs and archives. The collection is particularly strong in the areas of uniform, textiles, medals, weapons and memorabilia. The medals of 8 of the Regiment’s 13 VC winners are one of the high points of the collection. The archives and photographs are of especial value to researchers, while the paintings, prints and engravings add colour and detail to all periods.
The Staffordshire Regiment Museum's small painting collection mainly features individual officers and soldiers who have served in the Regiment and its predecessors. Others illustrate actions in which the Regiment has taken part.
