Quay House is a 3 storey Grade II* listed building built in 1789; it is typical of the period being a detached, symmetrical, square stone house sat in its own grounds facing south, with flush frame sash windows with glazing bars, a porch with columns, and a full-length sash window at the rear covering all 3 floors, which makes the building particularly light and airy. In the past it has been a private home and girls' boarding school and has been the home of local government in Kingsbridge since the 1950s.
