Located in the Canongate on Edinburgh's famous Royal Mile, the museum is packed with collections illustrating the historical and cultural life of Edinburgh from the earliest times to the present day. It houses spectacular collections of decorative art including beautifully cut and engraved glass and intricately made silver from Edinburgh and Canongate. Highlights of the historical collections include The National Covenant and James Craig's plans for the New Town of Edinburgh.
