Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge
The Department of Engineering is the largest department in the University of Cambridge, representing approximately 10% of the University's activities by the majority of common metrics, and is one of Europe's largest integrated engineering departments. The painting collection consists mostly of portraits of past Professors and Heads of the Department documenting nearly 150 years of history and key milestones. A more recent acquisition is by artist Toni Bartl who became a lecturer in the Department and Director of the Welding Institute. He went on to become a teacher at Lincoln School of Art.
The Department is a private educational institution. If you wish to see a particular painting, please contact the collection.
Not all locations are open to the public. Please contact the gallery or collection for more information.
