Over the years Shropshire County Council has commissioned and collected a range of paintings. These were once hung at the former Shirehall and Law Courts and are now housed at the present day Shirehall complex or in store with the Museum Service. Many of these paintings are portraits of County Council members and notable figures in local administration. There are also some landscape paintings which relate to the major towns and well-known views within the County.
