The different Departments in Cardiff School of Art & Design (CSAD) can be found on three different campus sites: Howard Gardens, Llandaff and Cyncoed. The majority of artwork owned by the Cardiff Metropolitan University, is located on the Llandaff site, with a few examples at Howard Gardens and a smaller number in Cyncoed.
CSAD does not have a curator of collections or a post with that responsibility, and the collection has been compiled in an ad hoc manner over a period of years. The work acquired over the last five years falls into two categories (excluding work on temporary loan): work by professional artists and work purchased from graduating students from degree shows. Recent purchases are bold canvases by Mick Maslen, work by Stewart Geddes and Philip Mead’s 'The Fun Don't Stop'. Recent additions from students include Peter Sabin’s 'Untitled/Hands High' and Peter Keegan’s characterful group portrait of canteen staff.
