In June 2006, the Queen will celebrate her 80th birthday. The BBC has commissioned Rolf Harris to paint an official portrait in honour of the occasion.

The Queen, by Rolf goes behind the scenes, filming two sittings for the portrait at Buckingham Palace. The programme also visits Rolf in his studio, where he explores the history of royal portraiture.

The portrait of the Queen will be on display from Tuesday 20th December until Sunday 11th June 2006, at The Queen's Gallery, Buckingham Palace.
