Glaswegian electro-pop trio Chvrches came into The Review Show studio to play a couple of tracks. BBC Arts caught up with Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook & Martin Doherty for an exclusive interview about their recent touring exploits, including the attractions of the Japanese healthcare system.

The band also discuss their synth-pop influences, including Depeche Mode who they supported on their European tour, and how they utilise modern production techniques to give their sound a unique edge rather than relying on retro pastiche.

Chvrches formed in 2011 and were 5th in the BBC's Sound of 2013 list of promising new talent. They are nominated in the Best New Band category for the NME Awards 2014, which take place on 26 February 2014 in London. The band are touring the UK in March.

Watch the band perform Recover for BBC Four's The Review Show, a track from their self-produced debut album The Bones of What You Believe.

Watch The Review Show on Sunday 23 February and afterwards on BBC iPlayer.
