The Team
There are 15 staff working in the photo library. Half the team is dedicated to news-related requests and the other part of the library deals with non-news requests. The news stills teams are a responsive picture research team working solely with BBC News. The service has to be dedicated because they have to constantly react to breaking news stories and images are needed to support content which is going out. The other part of the photo library team is responsible for the non-news side. On average we receive between 40 and 60 requests a day. These come from within the BBC from programme makers, but also externally from magazines and newspapers.
