In this unedited recording, Bob Hope talks about the early days of his career as a comedian, working with such vaudeville legends as Ruby Keeler, Florenz Ziegfeld, Fanny Brice and Al Jolson.
This unedited interview is presented as it was originally recorded. Therefore, there are changes in the sound levels and there may be some interruptions and interference from background noise. Parts of this interview were used in the 1976 documentary 'American Showmen'.
As well as the Comedian of the Century Award, which was presented to him in 1975 by the National Entertainment Council, and the 'People's Choice' award for 1977, Bob Hope was also the recipient of four honorary American Academy Awards, two Emmy Awards, two Golden Globes, the American Medal of Freedom, the Order of the British Empire, the French Legion of Honour and over 50 honorary degrees. In 1976, he entered 'The Guinness Book of Records' as the most honoured individual in the field of entertainment.
